#118 Roorda

Concern designed a no-nonsense interior for Roorda advertising agency in an old industrial building in Amsterdam. The focal point of this design, located in a 1250 m2 area featuring a saw-toothed roof and a ‘vide’ 9a large open space), is a wooden ‘runner’ that leads from the entrance through the foyer and then continues upwards to form a staircase leading into the boardroom. The runner features a 15 meter-long piece of furniture as the reception desk, as well as reading-, working- and meeting tables.

This area has been interpreted in an extraordinary manner, making it the unique center point of the company.

The offices can be partitioned by using large orange felt sliding doors, enabling users to fully control the degree of openness or intimacy of the workplaces. It also means that, thee offices have been provided with the maximum possible amount of transparency and everything is bathed in a sea of light.
